Chamber of Commerce crowns 2021 OBAA winners

Current COVID restrictions have forced the cancellation of the 2021 Outstanding Businesses Achievement Awards (OBAA) in person.

Despite this, members of the Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce recently visited each winning business to present them with a trophy.

President Allan Calvert said Sarnia Produce owner Dean Troiani was named entrepreneur of the year.

“There were risks that he and his group took to grow their business during a pandemic,” Calvert said. “The welcoming hospitality he extended not only to myself at his place of work, but also to the customers walking by during the presentation, is a testament to the success of his business.”

Bluewater Power was crowned Company of the Year, thanks in part to a high number of nominations.

“They really go out of their way to support this community,” Calvert said. “Not only in providing consistent and reliable service, but their response to situations where there is a small power outage in this community, in terms of communication, availability of information and speed of response is truly amazing. We We also received testimonials from some of the staff who work in this organization. The obvious sense of pride in this organization is out of this world.

Calvert said the Chamber continues to aggressively promote local shopping.

He encourages residents to take the time to talk to local business owners because he believes there are great stories that will make you proud of where we live and do business.
