Learn more about the Scarlett range (product history):
Over the past decade, Scarlett interfaces have found their way into home and professional studios around the world and have enabled millions of musicians, songwriters and producers to record, mix and play audio. in studio quality anywhere, anytime, and are now hailed as the world’s best-selling USB audio interfaces. Thanks to more than four million users worldwide, the high-quality audio that Scarlett offers has made more records than any other interface in history, and Focusrite has learned a lot in those ten years.

The first generation:
In 2011 Focusrite introduced the Scarlett 2i2 to the world. Back then, the user experience with audio interfaces was generally very hit and miss (sometimes they worked, sometimes they didn’t). For Focusrite, it was not good enough. They have therefore made it their mission to invest in a technology that would allow them to create an interface that is always reliable and robust, allowing everyone – not just those with technical experience – to make quality recordings. Listening to customers has always been essential for the brand, and to that end, Focusrite has asked Scarlett’s customers for feedback and invested in customer support, channeling the information they gleaned from their customers into the design. some products. When Focusrite was producing the first iterations of the Scarlett interfaces, they decided to create their designs from scratch rather than building a system out of simple parts they had on hand. They have carefully chosen the best components possible, in order to produce interfaces that offer professional-level reliability and the best sound via USB. Between 2012 and 2014, the range expanded, offering interfaces adapted to each designer. Focusrite introduced the 2i4, Scarlett Studio, 18i20, 6i6, 18i8, Scarlett Solo and Scarlett Solo Studio – an interface for every recording situation. They also continued to refine their designs, adding more features that would benefit customers, make them sound great with minimal effort, while keeping them accessible.

The second generation:
In 2016, the second generation of Scarlett interfaces was released, offering improved audio performance and the ability to record at a higher resolution of 192kHz. It also included Pro Tools First | Focusrite Creative Pack, so customers have all the tools they need to record in one package. In addition, the OctoPre and the OctoPre Dynamic have been added to the family.

The third generation:
Since 2019, the third generation of Scarlett has been available, with even more appeal to a wide range of artists. An Easy Start tool has been added, which further simplifies recording and maintaining recording. Additionally, there have been a significant number of upgrades including USB-C connectivity and audio enhancements. Focusrite also introduced Air, an analog effect that delivers classic sound and adds another dimension to the superb level of recording already offered by Scarlett interfaces.
